Numerous times I have walked past the stand in New look, swatched the beauty products, and thought to myself of how this powder reminded me so much of beloved Mac studio fix powder. ( a holy grail of mine!) The New look powder is so butter-y and smooth. Greetings fellow Divas! I am new to the board and have been an avid MAC wearer for the past 5 years. Now about the MAC, it would be wrong, if i'd say, i dont love it head over heels, but then again, its too pricey at 2000 something, *_* the mac helps me combat the shine and since i have blemishes and teenage acne it really helps me cover those to an extent, i have oily skin, so a face powder is a must for me, the MAC is good but doesn't keep my face Matte for anything more than 3 hours, and then it needs blotting and touch ups. All in all the MAC is good but pricey!
I usually apply it with this cute kabuki or the applicator which MAC provides, it's handy for touchups and packaging is sturdy, ideal for travelling as it comes with a built in mirror.
The RIMMEL STAY MATTER POWDER to start with wasn't a planned purchase, I came across this while buying a Rimmel lipstick, and the SA showed it to me, i fell in love with it almost instantly, effortless to say considering how it's priced at 195 IND, i've used this for over a month now and it doesnt dissappoint me, it keeps me Matte for over 4 hours and though i tend to get oily on my t-zone, it can be easily fixed, and also the face that this powder claims to be mineral based. Good isn't it? It's such a bargain at that price. Easily available at any Shoppers stop Rimmel counter and online stores.
But wait, the downside counts cheap packaging, no applicator, no mirror and the cap keeps falling off, so a no no for travelling with it :(
Anyways, its perfect for everyday use, i would say its good for girls with all skin types and especially for the combi/oily skin girls!! :) like me.
And again there are mostly no beauty bloggers in the UK who doesn't own this!
Downside: While MAC offers a number of skin shades, Rimmel has barely 5-6 shades available here and doesn't offer any shades for dark skin tones :(
Repurchase: Without a second thought, sure to buy it again, but one tub lasts forever!
Recommendations: Do buy this if your looking for restocking your face powder. Take my word on it. Won't regret!

For the last couple of years my go to, holy grail status, powder foundation was the Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I swore by this foundation. Especially in my early days of makeup, I never wore liquid foundations or BB creams, so I relied on a powder foundation to give me the coverage I was looking for. The Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation really gives such great coverage without looking cakey and also, for someone like me with combination to oily skin, it really helped keep me nice and matte throughout the day. And for $27 a pop, it should!

So imagine my surprise when a few months ago I see one of my favorite beauty YouTubers, Lizzy from WhatWouldLizzyDo talk about a new powder foundation from BH Cosmetics. I have ordered from BH Cosmetics prior to hearing her talk about this and was really impressed with the quality of their products. BH Cosmetics is an online cosmetics company offering affordable makeup alternatives. Their makeup is excellent quality and they have really amazing brushes as well. So I knew if Lizzy was excited about it and saying it was a more affordable dupe for the Mac powder, I had to try it!What Is A Dupe For Mac Studio Fix Powder
The BH Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder comes in 7 different shades, which at first may not sound like much of a selection, but I truly believe there is a shade to fit every skin tone. I do wish there were a few more darker shades to fit all of my brown and chocolate skinned babies, but hopefully this is something BH Cosmetics can come out with in the future. Mac
When it comes to shade ranges for myself I bought the shade 250 which is about one shade lighter than I wanted but the shade 255 is perfect for me. For reference, I'm the shade NW45 at Mac, so if you're in that shade range or about a shade lighter than 250 and 255 will work perfectly for you. The BH powder is just as amazing as the Mac Studio Fix, and dare I say I like it better? To me it just seems like it has a bit of a 'creamier' or smoother texture than the Mac powder. And the best part, it's only $5.95! That's almost a $22 difference between the Mac powder and the BH powder. If you're looking for an affordable powder foundation that's going to give you excellent coverage and do a great job of absorbing excess oils and keeping you nice and matte, then I highly suggest you try the BH Studio Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder. It's AH-MAZING! And your wallet will thank you. :)
