The LifeCam Studio webcam comes with an automatic focussing feature that searches and focuses on a subject without manual adjustment. However, this feature may be bothersome if the webcam is constantly trying to refocus itself, or is focussing on the wrong subject. As in other LifeCam models, to focus the LifeCam Studio webcam on your Mac, you need to turn off the 'TrueColor' option in the control dashboard to access the 'Properties' button. By clicking this button, you open an advanced control window that allows you to manually focus the webcam on your Mac.
2.Click on the blue arrow on the right side of the camera display window to pop out the Microsoft Dashboard.
3.Click on the Gear icon at the top of the Microsoft Dashboard to access the 'Settings' panel.
4.Locate the Image Adjustments section and click the checkbox beside the TrueColor logo to deselect it, disabling the TrueColor and AutoFocus features.
5.Click the 'Properties' button that appears below the TrueColor logo to access the Advanced Properties window.
6.Click on the 'Camera Control' tab at the top of the window.
7.Click on the checkbox in the 'Auto' column next to the 'Focus' slider to deselect it and turn off the AutoFocus option. Use the slider labelled 'Focus' to adjust the focus of the camera. Drag the small bar back and forth along the slider to focus the camera as desired.
Tip
- You will need to disable the autofocus feature each time you restart the camera.
